Hi my name is Amanda, I'm hoping that some one might be able to help me with some info on my great grandfather. All I know about him and his wife is that he was serving in India under the black watch,  his name was Tommy Wilson. At some point he married my grandmother Edith Brook or Brooks after leaving the Army, he then worked for the railway at JAJA as a engine driver, My great grandmother then passed away when my Nan was only 3yrs old so the girls were put in St Josephs convent until they left and came to England. I think Tommy remarried. My Nan left the convent in the 1940 some time and she was the youngest.

One of her witnesses at the wedding was a lady called Kate Brookes, she well may have been Edith”s mother, but little is known within our family.

The only thing i found out was on the wedding certificate of Edith and Thomas which i have a soppy of, it said one of the witness's was Kate Brookes , i assumed at first this might be her sister but i later discovered { i can't remember how i did it } that she was Ediths mother and her name was Katherine who at the time was remarried. I believe Edith may have been an only child. Also possibly Edith's grandfather may have been called Henry John Duckett.

My Nan is the only one left and is 91 this yr and I would love to found out more about my Nana’s  Mum so I can pass it onto her. Jean was only a small child when Edith died and doesn’t have much memory of her Mum or any family members linked to her mum . Thanks in advance, Amanda Boden  amandaboden1@gmail.com
