If there is any Speechly/speechley out there that thinks their family tree is connected, then please get in touch with me I consider it’s likely that my early 19th century ancestors were from England and had military careers in India. George Speechley, a Private in the 3rd Madras fusiliers were awarded the Indian Mutiny Medal and had three sons, one being James (1827-1869). Daniel SPEECHLY, a Lines foreman for the Bombay Telephone Company married Ada ?? (b ?? died on the 6th June 1903) and children were:

  1. Leslie James Speechley (twin) Born 22nd May 1903 Bombay India and later baptised 21st April 1917, Bombay.

  2. Albert Victor Speechley (twin), Born 22nd May 1903 Bombay India and later baptised 21st April 1917, Bombay.

Daniel SPEECHLY, a Lines foreman for the Bombay Telephone Company, after Ada died on 6/6/1903, married Beatrice O’DOHERTY at the office of the Marriage Registrar, Bombay on 4th April 1916.

 

Irene SPEECHLY (daughter of ??) at the age of 20 married Henry Norman Winter ROBBINS on the 4th July 1917, Bombay.
