So sorry to bother you but I have not been able to find ANY information on my Great Grandmother whose maiden name was Maxworth. She married a Michael Francis McMahon but later reverted back to her maiden name of Louisa May Maxworth.  She resided in Columbo, Ceylon for a time whilst under the name McMahon, and later moved to Bangalore, India where she married a Reuben Fernandez.  He changed his name to Maxworth.  She died in Bangalore around 1949 and I noticed that you had THE ONLY reference to the name Maxworth apparently anywhere in the world in your family tree.  If there is a connection of any kind or if you have uncovered her details by mistake, could you please advise me of this.  I cannot get a birth, death or marriage certificate for this lady and I know she existed.  Extremely frustrating as you can imagine.  If this request is not something which you would like to respond to, I fully understand.  I do appreciate your time in reading this request.  My email address in enclosed in case you may be able to help.  Thank you, Jenny Boyle, Australia.

Louisa May MAXWORTH married Michael Francis McMAHON (DOB 30/10/76 born in Limerick, Ireland. He immigrated to Kandy, Ceylon with Louisa to work on a tea plantation. ), 3 children:

  1. Ethel May McMahon b. 11/4/04 - Kandy, Ceylon

  2. Reuben (Sonny) McMahon - Kandy, Ceylon - Daughter Nora

  3. Sydney (Chappy) Aloysius Dodwell McMahon b. 3/6/09 - Kandy, Ceylon - Daughter

Louisa May MAXWORTH (died in Bangalore, India in either 1948 or 1949) after her first husband Michael returned to Ireland, married Reuben FERNANDEZ of Ootacamund,  in Bangalore, (Reuben Fernandez dropped his name Fernandez and went under the name Maxworth prior to meeting Louisa May Maxworth. Do not think he legally changed his name. His mothers maiden name may have been Maxworth also.  Mothers name was Harriet Letisha ?) 4 children:

  1. Barney Maxworth

  2. Bert Maxworth

  3. Clarence Maxworth

  4. Aileen Maxworth

(All children we assume were born in Bangalore, India. Michael McMahon apparently left Louisa and went back to Ireland, hence her "remarriage". I have no dates except Michaels DOB 30/10/76 born in Limerick, Ireland.  There is another name of George Albert McMahon noted on birth certificate as Parent/Guardian to Sydney Aloysius Dodwell McMahon. Could he have been a brother to Michael Francis McMahon?  Michael's parents were Thomas McMahon & Kate Mary Lynch.  His father was a boot maker by trade and worked as a guard on the Irish railways. I do know that Louisa May Maxworth died in Bangalore, India in either 1948 or 1949.
