George FRASER (b 1804, Dornoch, Scotland, d in St George, Grenada in 1855 ) travelled to Ceylon via Grenada (or other way around).  He moved for the Coffee production which ultimately stopped and then tea became the big thing in Ceylon, married ??, Had 5 children,

  1. GEORGE GUN/N FRASER, (ca 1830) married MARIA CAROLINA GAETANA ROMANINI (daughter of Count Angelo ROMANINI & Rosa POLINELLI, Angelo was an Italian political exile, a member of the Carbonari ~ like Giuseppe Garibaldi: came with their family of 7 daughters to India via Turkey & Persia after the Austro-Italian war) in Negombo, Ceylon in 1856 and had 6 children:

  2. WILLIAM SUTHERLAND-FRASER (b 1858, story is the oldest of each generation gets the Sutherland before their name because George Fraser's mother was a Sutherland woman as was his grandmother);

  3. LOUISA REGINA FRASER (b 1859)

  4. GEORGE ROYSTON FRASER (this is where my dad got his middle name Royston from) born 1860;

  5. ANGUS CHARLES FRASER (b 1865)

(nothing known about my grandfather's siblings, except Henry moved to Australia and died in 1968 in Sydney.  Amazing he was in the same city as my dad and they didn't even know each other.  Ah the joys of Colonial Families.
