Charles  D'LIMA (also spelled De Lima), born Madura 25 January 1856, died of pneumonia 23 November 1908; buried at St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Ootacamund; classified on his burial certificate as a 'Eurasian' (N/2/104, f. 265) married, probably in the late 1880's Jane Ann Grace ARBUTHNOTT (Born Madras 1 March 1874. Died Ootacamund 20 January 1895 (death entry identifies her as Eurasian. Buried in the Roman Catholic Cemetery. info comes from a volume of inscriptions on Christian graves in the Nilgiris as does that re Joseph) .  Charles was head surveyor of the Madras survey. Children:

  1. Herbert D'Lima. Born 1889/90. Died of fever 19 May 1895 aged 5; buried 19 May (N/2/78, f.307).

  2. Joseph Vyvian Arbuthnott D'Lima. Born 17 June 1891. Died Ootacamund 12 September 1893. Buried Roman Catholic Cemetery.

  3. [Possibly] Grace D'Lima married Mr Cocker, children: Max Cocker, Bertie Cocker, Caroline Cocker (committed suicide), June Cocker married ? Clough and had 5 children.
