George (Giovanni) BREDEE married Ethel DUNNE (died 1945), children :

1. Harold Bredee,
2. Phyllis Bredee (26/1/1906),
3. Zena Bredee ,
4. Cynthia Bredee.

George Bredee remained in India until Independence. The family adopted Leslie to become Leslie-Bredee during World War 1, possibly to avoid internment. George naturalised British in 1947/48. Ethel died in 1945 and is buried in Srinagar, Kashmir.

Next Generation

Harold BREDEE ( a tea planter in Ceylon) married Eileen Audrey ALLEN ( daughter of Harold and Margery ALLEN) in Neuira Eliya Ceylon on Feb 16th 1946, children:

1. Alister Keith Bredee (born Colombo, July 19th 1947)
2. Jennifer Rosamund Bredee (born Colombo, September 26th 1950).

Phyllis BREDEE married Gerry LEWIS-BOWEN in India possibly in 1935. Have requested information from that side of the family. She later moved to Southern Rhodesia.

Cynthia BREDEE married Gerald MASSEY in India (?). The marriage ended in divorce and she re-married Stafford Cripp's nephew "Chips" during the war. She moved to New Zealand in 1964 where she died. Children of 1st marriage:

1. Dunham Massey
2. Lynn Massey

I am particularly interested to trace George Bredee's ancestors as well as his wife's. I have a Elise Krug, daughter of Edward Krug and Fulie Rathman of St. Goar, Germany marrying a Johann Bredee but as yet no date.
